Will the COVID-19 pandemic have the skin of the cinema? While many rooms are still waiting to reopen or, at best, to be able to fill the sessions, James Cameron is worried and admits to praying for the good of the box office.
During a recent appearance on The Tonight Show , the filmmaker explains that he does not care to see his films being overtaken by those of Marvel and especially Avengers: Endgame , for the title of No. 1 in the
James Cameron even admits to praying that theaters remain a viable way to watch movies after the end of the pandemic: ” Pray that the cinemas are still there after this pandemic and after this shift towards streaming. It should be remembered that James Cameron is playing big, he who has been preparing a cinematographic project of a titanic scale, for years, with Avatar 2 which should be released on December 16, 2022 in theaters, then Avatar 3 provisionally scheduled for December 22, 2023 and Avatar 4 , set for December 18, 2026. If the sequels are successful, then Disney will sign a check for Avatar 5 . Suffice to say that the director has reasons to pray.
